What we could not verify (kept honest)
  • Release dates: Runway's API model catalog displays dates next to model IDs (for example 2026-02-10 beside gen4.5, 2026-06-02 beside aleph2, 2025-07-21 beside act_two), but the pages reviewed do not label these as launch dates, so 'released' is null for all current models rather than guessing.
  • Team and Enterprise dollar prices are not published on the consumer pricing page opened (runway.com/pricing lists only Free, Standard, Pro and Max); their credit amounts are verified from Runway's official credits help article, so 'price' is null for those plans.
  • The Unlimited plan is legacy: current Runway docs label it 'Unlimited (Legacy)', it no longer appears on the public pricing page, and its price is no longer published; its 2,250 credits/month figure comes from the official credits help article.
  • Motion Brush: not present in Runway's current web-app model catalog, API model catalog, or the official Deprecated Standalone Tools table reviewed, so its current status could not be verified from official pages; it was a Gen-2/Gen-3-era control and is not documented for current models.
  • Explore Mode: Gen-4.5 and Edit Studio documentation confirms Explore Mode support, but the official pages opened did not state which plans include it, so plan eligibility is not asserted.
  • Runway's catalogs also list many hosted third-party models (for example Veo, Kling, Seedance and FLUX). They are excluded here because this page covers Runway's own models; only Runway-native entries were recorded.
  • contextWindow is null throughout: it is not an applicable or published spec for these video/image models.

How to choose the right Video & Audio tool

Video and audio tools split into generators (which create footage, voices or music from prompts) and editors (which speed up cutting, captions and cleanup). Start from your end product: short social clips, long videos, podcasts or voiceovers each reward different strengths. For generation, check output resolution, clip length, and how much control you get over style and consistency. For voices and music, listen for natural pacing and check the languages you need. Licensing is critical — confirm you can use the output commercially, especially for client work and monetised channels. Finally, weigh render times and credit costs: a tool that takes an hour per clip changes your whole workflow.
